The village of Gyé sur Seine is in itself very worth a stroll. Its origins go back to remote times.
Gathered around the plane-tree-shaded square figure the town hall, the church, a beautiful 17th century wine-producing house, and well-hidden behind the church stands the castle with its Renaissance dungeon.
The old fortifications have been converted into a lovely promenade on the banks of the river Seine. You will be able to fish in the river, as well as bathe since a little swimming-pool was created.
The streets of the village are edged with old houses. Around the vineyards you will discover the woods that tower above them, the ‘dry garden’ with its wild orchids, the typical stone sheds known as ‘cadoles’ scattered around the countryside.
